Registrations now open for Repositioning Dementia: Seeking solutions
We’re excited registrations are now open for Repositioning Dementia: Seeking solutions.
The event will be held on Thursday 21 March 2024 in at JetPark, Auckland and online, and will also mark Brain Awareness Month.
This is the third event in the one-day series by Alzheimers NZ, and will continue to focus on our three kaupapa of the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan, research and the lived experience of dementia mate wareware.
Some of the programme has already been revealed, including presentations from Te Whatu Ora, Dr Matthew Croucher, Dr Makarena Dudley, Law Commission, New Zealand Council of Christian Social Services, Professor Cliff Abraham and Litmus. More exciting speakers will be announced in the new year.
Alzheimers NZ Chief Executive Catherine Hall says the event is timely with the recent change in Government and is a good chance to offer up solutions.
“We’ve invited the new Minister of Health Dr Shane Reti to open the Conference and look forward to hearing his plans to improve services,” she says.
“Government has indicated the need for more focus on dementia mate wareware and the aged care sector in the National/NZ First Coalition Agreement , and we’re looking forward to helping drive these changes.
“We already know what the solutions are under the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan, so these events are a chance for the sector to help bring this to life – we hope to see you there!”
Please note if you have signed up for the first and/or second event, you will still need to register for this event for access.
