Alzheimers NZ welcomes new Dementia Learning Centre Director
We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Caroline Bartle as Dementia Learning Centre Director for Alzheimers NZ.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Caroline is an internationally recognised leader in dementia mate wareware education. Her research focuses on organisational learning and workforce development in the field of dementia mate wareware care.
Over the past five years, Caroline has been supporting the development of dementia mate wareware care practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
She will continue in her role as Dementia Lead at Ryman Healthcare – a natural collaboration as Alzheimers NZ’s Lead Partner to help reduce stigma and increase education about dementia mate wareware.
Alzheimers NZ Chief Executive Catherine Hall is pleased to welcome Caroline to the team.
“Our previous Director Dr Kathy Peri has made some incredible strides setting up the Dementia Learning Centre over the past four years, and we’re excited for Caroline to take the next step,” she says.
“She’s made a real impact on the sector since she’s been in Aotearoa New Zealand and I know her passion and knowledge will shine through in this role.
“We’re excited to see where the journey goes as we look to transform the attitudes and understanding, and knowledge and skills we all need to provide the best possible support and care for people living with dementia mate wareware.”
Caroline will start her new role in late June.
