First line-up of speakers announced for conference 2026
We’re pleased to announce the first line-up of thought-provoking speakers who will join us at Beyond the story: Reshaping dementia support this September!
This year’s conference has three kaupapa over the 1.5 days – Making the Action Plan real, service innovations and workforce.
We’re delighted Professor Ngaire Kerse will help set the scene with an update on the IDEA study, while Professor Maurice Curtis will let us know what the science is telling up.
Denise Cosgrove, The Selwyn Foundation, and Lady Tureiti Moxon, Te Kōhao Health, will share more about kaupapa Māori services, and Dr Matthew Croucher will present on diagnosis.
Fiona Parrant, Chair Lived Experience Advisory Group, will facilitate session on telling better stories while Nicky McDonald, Director Office for Seniors, will facilitate the concurrent session on strengthening the case with data.
“We’ve got some excellent speakers locked in so far to share ideas, spark conversations, and help shape a better future for people and their whānau living with dementia mate wareware,” says Alzheimers NZ Chief Executive Catherine Hall.
“But there is much more to come… We have some working sessions on the cards and an exciting panel discussion about the future of Aotearoa New Zealand. Watch this space!”
