Ongoing support for Alzheimers NZ vital for people living with dementia mate wareware

Alzheimers NZ was delighted to accept another donation of $20,000 from the Ancient and Accepted Rite for New Zealand (The Rose Croix) recently.

This brings the total donations from the organisation to Alzheimers NZ to $60,000 over the last seven years – and we appreciate the generosity.

Donations are used nationally and locally to help us provide vital services and support to people and their whānau living with Alzheimers and dementia mate wareware.

Alzheimers NZ Chief Executive Catherine Hall says dementia mate wareware is estimated to affect 70,000 Kiwis today, although soon to be published research shows this may be up to 12 or 15 percent higher.

“It is a big and growing problem for Aotearoa New Zealand, so the ongoing support of organisations like The Rose Croix means we can continue to advocate on their behalf,” she says.

“We really appreciate the ongoing support and know this will make a real difference to people and their whānau living with dementia mate wareware.”
