Welcome to the official Alzheimers Arts Trail 2026 page.

This is your hub for everything Arts Trail. Here you’ll find Gala Evening information, Arts Trail ticket details and the latest event updates.

Discover over 50 Marlborough artists and explore studios and galleries across the region in this unique celebration of creativity, connection and community.

As you explore the trail and meet the artists behind the work, you’ll also be supporting Alzheimers Marlborough. Funds raised through the Arts Trail help provide essential services and support for people living with dementia mate wareware and their families throughout the Marlborough region.

Tickets for both the Gala Evening and the Arts Trail will be released on Monday 6th July 2026 through Eventbrite.

Arts Trail tickets can also be purchased in person from the Alzheimers Society, 8 Wither Road and the Marlborough Library Te Kahu O Waipuna.

Gala Evening

Saturday 12 September 2026 | 6.00pm – 8.30pm

Join us for a special Gala Opening Evening to launch the Alzheimers Arts Trail 2026 in style.

Enjoy a relaxed and vibrant evening at Oak & Ivy with canapés and Hunter’s Wines, alongside an inspiring talk from special guest Michael Hurst.

Recognised as one of New Zealand’s most accomplished actors, Michael Hurst has enjoyed a career spanning more than 30 years across film, television and theatre. His work includes starring roles in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and directing productions such as Ash vs Evil Dead. Michael is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to film and television and is also an Arts Laureate.

Alongside his wife, Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Michael recently starred in the acclaimed production In Other Words, a powerful and moving story exploring the impact of Alzheimers. A natural storyteller and engaging speaker, Michael will share insights, reflections and stories from his remarkable career in the arts.

The evening will also feature an auction, raising funds to support the vital work of Alzheimers Marlborough.

A wonderful evening of conversation, creativity and community.

Arts Trail Weekend

Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 September 2026 | 10.00am – 4.00pm daily

The Alzheimers Arts Trail is a self-drive event that opens the doors to artists’ studios, galleries and creative spaces across the region. Over two inspiring days, visitors can explore Marlborough’s vibrant arts community and gain a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the creative process.

Your Arts Trail ticket includes:

• Access to participating studios and gallery spaces
• Opportunities to meet the artists behind the work
• A diverse range of artistic styles and mediums
• The chance to purchase original artwork directly from artists

Visitors will receive a full Alzheimers Arts Trail programme including trail map, allowing you to plan your own route and discover the region’s remarkable creative talent at your own pace.

Every ticket purchased helps support the vital work of Alzheimers Marlborough and the services provided to people living with dementia mate wareware and their families.

Tickets on sale July 2026 and are valid for both days.

Early Bird Ticket: $25 per person available until 31st July
General Admission: $30 per person

Silent Art Auction

In the lead-up to the Arts Trail, browse and bid on an outstanding collection of donated artworks in the Silent Art Auction.

The exhibition will be on display at The Wine + Food Experience, 42 Alfred Street, Blenheim, from mid-August, with proceeds helping support the important work of Alzheimers Marlborough.
