Solving the Dementia Challenge with People, Partnership and Innovation is Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 September 2025 at the Grand Millennium, Auckland and online. The Summit is designed so people can join all or as many sessions as they wish – there will be something for everyone.

The panel called ‘Shifting the dial on dementia support’ will be held on the first day of the Summit. Day two will include the presentation of the refreshed Action Plan, the launch of new infographics and an address from Associate Minister of Health Casey Costello.

The infographics will highlight the real size and scale of the growing dementia mate wareware challenge in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Action Plan will be presented on behalf of the kaitiaki of the plan – including Alzheimers NZ, Dementia NZ, NZ Dementia Foundation and te Mate Wareware Advisory Rōpū.

“The Action Plan is a roadmap for the sector so people living with dementia mate wareware and their whānau can access the help and support they desperately need. The plan that we wrote together five years ago is still relevant today, and the Summit is the perfect opportunity to let decision makers know that,” says Catherine.

“But that’s not the only reason why you should come. We’ve got a great programme and some incredible co-leads who are bringing the prominent sector issues to light which you find on our website. It’s a cross-sector conversation that will inform, inspire and connect the different parts of the dementia mate wareware and wider sector. We do hope to see you there!”
