Win a double pass to Bluebeard’s Castle in Wellington and Christchurch Post Cover Image

We’re excited to be giving away two double passes to the new opera Bluebeard’s Castle next month, presented by New Zealand Opera and New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

The powerful production (performed in English) reimagines Béla Bartók’s one-and-only famous opera as a love story between a long-married couple living with the reality of dementia mate wareware, and is set in the present day.

The show stars British dramatic soprano Susan Bullock and American dramatic baritone Lester Lynch, currently two of the classical world’s most experienced and sought after singers.

The 95-strong New Zealand Symphony Orchestra will be led by celebrated guest conductor Lawrence Renes.

Alzheimers NZ Chief Executive Catherine Hall says any opportunity to encourage open discussion about the reality of living with dementia mate wareware in the creative space helps to reduce stigma.

“We know the team worked alongside dementia experts during the production process, so I can only imagine it will be a beautiful, but confronting, show.”

Playing one night only in each city at Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre and the Christchurch Town Hall, this trailblazing, psychologically penetrating opera is described by The Guardian as “a devastating piece of theatre”.

Share your details with us below no later than Monday 31 July and go into the draw to win a double pass for either Wellington or Christchurch! Winners will be contacted by telephone.
