Memory Walk 2026
Memory Walk 2026
We are holding a Memory Walk for Alzheimers Awareness Month on Sunday 20th September 2026
Wear purple and join us as we walk from East End Reserve to Tasman Prospect (by the Wind Wand) in honour of those affected by dementia.
Where & When: We will set off from East End Reserve at 10am, so meet on the green area opposite the skating rink from 9.30am.
Cost: This year we asking participants to register for $10 – you get a goodie bag included (children under 5 free).
At the end (on Tasman Prospect) we will have stalls, a coffee cart, sausage sizzle and raffles.
We have some wonderful raffle prizes this year so be prepared to buy some tickets and be in with a chance to win!
The walk usually takes half an hour and is on the flat, but if you think you might need use of a mobility scooter, let us know so we can put you in touch with Taranaki Disabilities Information Centre to hire one for free.
Fast walkers and those using mobility scooters will be encouraged to lead the walk, but do not worry if you take a bit longer, there will be plenty of marshals helping out on the day and staff will bring up the rear!
To register please email: admin.taranaki@alzheimers.org.nz or call 06 769 6916.
