Practical support for the dementia mate wareware journey
Local Alzheimers and Dementia services provide vital support in their communities, which is often the first port of call for help for people living with dementia mate wareware and their whānau.
While there’s been an increasing pressure from the sector to create long-term policy to support the ageing population, practical support is essential for those who are living with dementia mate wareware today.
There is a myriad of resources available to build your own knowledge from what community services can provide – from information sheets and e-learning modules to apps and podcasts.
Alzheimers NZ Principal Advisor Services and Standards Lyneta Russell says there are different tools available for people who want to learn more about dementia mate wareware.
“Our local services offer amazing support in their communities, but sometimes people want to do a bit more learning at their own pace,” she says.
“There are some incredible resources available, and the vast majority have been developed alongside people with lived experience of dementia and embody the challenges you and your whānau are likely to face.
“We’re lucky to have an incredible community of professionals and people with lived experience who so generously share their knowledge and experiences with us.”
