Alzheimers NZ represents people affected by dementia at a national level by raising awareness of dementia, providing information and resources, advocating for high quality services and promoting research. We support local Alzheimers organisations across New Zealand who provide services and support to people living with dementia in their local communities.
Reporting to our Principal Advisor Services and Standards, the Advisor plays a key role lifting the quality of care and support and building capability within Alzheimers NZ Members and the dementia sector through our service delivery model the Alzheimers NZ Dementia Services and Standards, high-quality information resources and services for people living with dementia, and professional development programmes.
The Advisor also acts as a subject matter expert amongst a wide range of stakeholders and supports efforts to grow and disseminate the knowledge base relating to dementia in NZ.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a registered social services or health professional, preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification. You will also need to have experience working with people affected by dementia in a variety of settings, be knowledgeable about evidence-based practice relevant to people living with dementia and have a strong interest in shifting practice to lift the quality of care and support.
Strong analytical and relationships management and the ability to work collaboratively at a national level are essential, as is a commitment to ongoing professional development.
