The Sherwood Club

The Sherwood Club – A day facility providing a social setting and cognitive stimulation activities for people with dementia. Marita and Azure provide a variety of interactive games, discussions and activities interspersed with visiting entertainers to make each day varied and interesting.

Members of the Sherwood Club need to meet a certain criteria in order to be eligible to attend.

Open: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 3.00pm

Community Support Services

We provide home visits to families wanting more information about dementia or guidance when the diagnosis has been received.

We have a series of presentations and handouts for information, advocacy and support for people in the community including the person with dementia, their family and carers as well as dementia care health providers.

The Carer Support Group

Meets once a month to provide support, education, information and sharing of experiences amongst the group.

The group is hosted by volunteer, Janet Willson.

The Social Group

Meets informally for coffee and a social outing. This is a group is open to anyone that is interested.

Volunteer with us!

👀 Volunteers Needed 👀

We are seeking volunteers to work alongside us in our day facility for people with dementia.

Jobs range from food preparation and dishes to gardening and engaging with the clients in brain stimulation activities such as art and craft, puzzles, and board games or participating in games like ‘hangman’ or bingo.

You can choose from 1 to 3 days a week, full days or half with hours to suit between 9.30am to 3.00pm.

➡️All volunteers undergo an orientation process.
➡️A police check is mandatory
➡️Knowledge of working with people with dementia is an advantage but training is given.
➡️Working within a team and the ability to have fun are essential skills.
