Use social media
Almost all politicians use social media. For many, it is the primary way they communicate with the public and local communities. So it's a great way to get in touch and make your voice heard.
Alzheimers NZ is on Facebook and Twitter. A really easy way to spread the word is to share our posts with your followers. You can write a message with the post and tag any local politicians/public figures so they will see it, and hopefully respond.
You can also tag us in posts so we can share them with our community and show how we are uniting for dementia mate wareware.
Tips:
- Keep it short and simple
- Provide links for more information – or direct people to our website www.alzheimers.org.nz
- Tag relevant people or organisations using the ‘@’ function to maximise the chances that they will see the post
